Throughout the urban energy course all the lecturers covers various areas in the field, such as urban energy concepts, energy use and poverty, sustainable construction and energy efficiency, technologies, impacts and costs, climate change and integrated approach to energy and biodiversity.

What to learn?
The course objectives are 1) To develop a better understanding of the actual and future urban energy concepts and impacts, 2) To introduce and to discuss the technical and eco-financial aspects of the new urban energy technologies and approaches: energy efficiency, storage systems, 3) To appreciate international and local governments strategies, policies and instruments in addressing energy demand, sustainable energy supply and urban planning (growth), 4) To offer a set of effective decision support tools and methods for sustainable urban energy planning, thus 5) To provide entry points for collaboration with energy suppliers in particular the private sector, 6) Through information and case studies, to provide a background that enables a better understanding of sustainable urban energy planning options andpractices, and 7) To contribute to the achievement of sustainable urbanization through enhanceddecision-making process and project implementation.
